JOHANNESBURG -- A truck collided with multiple vehicles on the M35 road outside Isipingo in Durban, South Africa, leaving seven people dead and dozens injured, said the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Nomusa Dube-Ncube on Sunday.
"It is unacceptable that we have had multiple truck accidents in such a short space of time that continue to claim many lives," she said, noting that more than 55 truck accidents were reported in the province in October alone. (South Africa-Car Crash)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has decided to strengthen its ground forces in the northwest of the country against "separatist terrorists" there, semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Sunday.
The "separatist terrorists" in the region have caused insecurity in some areas, a statement by the IRGC Ground Force's Hamzeh Seyyed Al-Shohada Base was quoted by Tasnim as saying. (Iran-Ground Forces-Separatist Terrorists)

DAMASCUS -- Several Syrian soldiers were killed on Sunday by Turkish airstrikes in northern Syria, state news agency SANA reported.
The soldiers were killed by the strikes which hit several military sites of the Syrian army and Kurdish militias in the countryside region of Hasakah and Aleppo provinces in northern Syria, said SANA, spelling no details about the death toll. (Syria-Turkish Airstrikes)

LAGOS -- At least 9 people were killed after a vehicle carrying 12 people plunged into a dam in north Nigeria's Kano state on Saturday, according to an official on Sunday.
Saminu Abdullahi, a spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service, said in a statement that a Golf Wagon on Saturday evening lost control after experiencing a tire blast, and fell inside the Fada dam in the Gwarzo area of the state. (Nigeria-Accident)
