DAR ES SALAAM, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian and South African leaders on Thursday pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
A joint communique issued at the end of a two-day state visit to South Africa by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan said President Hassan and her South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa pledged to enhance the bonds of friendship and solidarity that exist between the two countries and committed to continuing to build these relations for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
According to the communique, the two leaders expressed a shared commitment to boost and broaden cooperation and collaboration in various sectors, including defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, environment, science and technology, transport, health, education, energy, mining, infrastructure development, culture, arts and sports.
The two leaders also exchanged views on various regional, continental, and international issues of mutual interest and concern, said the communique.
